If you are eyeing big Schengen countries like: France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and other countries like: UK, USA, Canada, Australia, it is important to start building your visa history to get visa to these countries.
But the problem is that most people want to 'japa' are not patient to build their visa history. They are in a mad hurry to apply to big these countries like Canada or France and get their visas sharp, sharp. But they get turned down because the visa officer isn't sure if the applicant will be coming back. You read the normal visa refusal reasons. But it's really beyond that. The problem is that you haven't done your homework very well and your application was refused.
If you want to get visa, you have to start small. I mean start applying to countries that their visa condition is not too strict. Nigeria passport is visas-free to some counties in Africa like: Mauritius, Kenya, Ghana, Cote D'voire, Gambia, Namibia, Senegal, etc. Even Seychelles and host of other counties. Of course there are some other European countries that are not Schengen that you can get visa without any hassles.
By getting stamps and visas on your passport from those countries, it will open doors to get visas to other big countries that you have been eyeing, But just make sure that you don't exceed your stay and you have enough money for your trip like: hotel, BTA and other logistics.
So when the time comes to apply to counties like Canada, USA, UK and other big countries, they would have seen that you are not new to traveling. I am not saying that you can't get visa to Canada as a first time applicant. Of course you can. It all depends on your ties, status and what you do.. Four years ago, I got a five-year TRV Canada visa for one of my clients. He doesn't even know what a visa looks like because he has travelled anywhere in his entire life before. But he is well-to-do and has good business. It was the first time I will apply for a visa with a Fixed Desposit Account. I was even afraidnhwn he brought a two-page documents saying it is all he has as a proof of fund (POF). But he got it.
So, who is applying for the visa matters. I mean what the person does for a living and how much he or she has in his or her account. If you work with a big multinationals and reputable organizations, you can be sure of visa once your purpose of trip is clear. The embassy knows who they give visas. That is the fact and they know who they refuse.
The purpose of the trip is also very important. If you are a car dealer, don't go for a fashion show. They won't give you visa. If you are an educationist, look for a training workshop or conference in that field. And don't go for a one-day exhibition that they will just give you badge and you won't pay for. They won;t give you visa. They will only give you visa if you have been travelling for a long time. In that regard, the visa offer will consider your travel history, your ties and your POF.
I will be talking more about this in my next post. Please follow me for more updates on how to japa 100% legit.
